Rest, Recover, Rediscover You
A 2–3 day visit to the Isle of Man is all it takes for a complete private sleep study — with time to experience one of Britain's most distinctive and unhurried islands.
Get in Touch to Plan Your VisitWhy the Isle of Man
A place that makes rest feel possible
The Isle of Man is not a clinic. It is a self-governing island in the Irish Sea with 100 miles of coastline, ancient landscape, and a pace of life that is genuinely unhurried. It is precisely this quality — the ability to slow down and breathe — that makes it an unusual and effective setting for a health visit.
NHS waiting lists for sleep diagnostics are equally long throughout the UK. Isle Sleep offers the same standard of consultant-reviewed clinical care as a major centre — with no queue, no institutional atmosphere, and a setting that works in your favour rather than against it.
Most visitors are surprised by how much the island has to offer. A short break that also resolves a long-standing health question is a compelling proposition. Many couples find it genuinely enjoyable.
A Typical Visit
2–3 days. A complete study.
The schedule below is a guide — we are flexible and happy to work around your travel arrangements. The key is two nights of recording, with a brief appointment at each end.
- 1
Day 1 — Arrive & Consult
Travel to the Isle of Man and check in to your accommodation. Your initial appointment takes place on arrival day or the following morning. We fit the Stowood device and talk you through everything — the appointment is relaxed, unhurried, and takes around 45 minutes. The rest of the day is yours.
- 2
Night 1 — First Recording
Sleep as you normally would, in your own accommodation, wearing the device. There are no wires attached to a wall, no monitoring stations, no clinical environment. The device is unobtrusive and most patients forget it is there.
- 3
Day 2 — The Island
Your second recording night is tonight — which means your day is completely free. Walk the coastal path at Peel, visit the Laxey Wheel, explore Douglas, or simply rest. The Isle of Man is small enough to see a great deal of in a single day, and unhurried enough to make that feel like a pleasure rather than a task.
- 4
Night 2 — Second Recording
The second night of recording. Two nights gives us significantly more reliable data, particularly for patients with milder or positional presentations. You wake, remove the device, and bring it to us in the morning.
- 5
Day 3 — Return & Depart
Return the device to us in the morning. Where the data is clear, we aim to discuss preliminary findings before you leave. Your full written diagnostic report follows within five to seven working days, along with a treatment plan recommendation. You depart with answers.
The study fits around your visit — not the other way around.
We work with your travel schedule. If you are arriving by ferry on an evening, your initial appointment can be the following morning. If you are flying home on day three, we can arrange an early device return. Get in touch and we will put together a schedule that works.
Coming with a Partner?
Holidays That Heal, Nights That Restore
Many of our visiting patients are prompted — and accompanied — by a partner whose sleep has also been significantly disrupted. The Isle of Man is a genuinely good short break destination: good food, dramatic coastal walking, a TT circuit that draws motorsport enthusiasts from around the world, and an unhurried pace that feels like a genuine departure from mainland life.
While the study runs overnight, days on the island are yours entirely. A couple can split the time between the things they each enjoy — and both leave with something of value.
